Honestly, we all were surprised to see Alia in this avatar when we saw the first look of this 2014 release. The free-spirited, comfy-cool Alia turned into the ethnic wear queen for this film. She very well carried all her ethnic wear looks from well pleated silk sarees, heavy traditional jewelries & traditional hairdos, she looked adorable in her Tamilan avatar. Manish Malhotra lehenga or not, Kavya looked absolutely charming wearing simple subtle kurtis to the elegant lehengas. Every ethnic wear lover would love her styling & the effortless way she carried every look from the simple kurtis, side pleated dupattas to the lovely legengas she was seen wearing in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania.

Well, some people would not remember this look from Alia’s 2015 release Shandaar. Alia playing the crazy ‘Alia’ in this crazy movie though wasn’t well acclaimed by the audience, but her fans absolutely loved her performance & all her chic looks from this movie. Talking of women’s ethnic wear, we just couldn’t ignore this one ethnic wear outfit Alia adorned at the near end of the movie, she gave us serious ethnic wear goals & bridesmaid fashion inspiration with the off shoulder full sleeved black blouse & greyish mesh saree with simple embroideries at the sides. This 2017 release Badrinath ki dulhania was no less than a modern day fairytale, making every one fall in love with the charecters & well as their indo-western looks. This movie gave us some serious Indian ethnic wear outfit inspirations & some of the best modern day version of traditional Rajasthani costumes. Vaidehi, the girl from Kota looked an ethnic wear diva from her first look in the movie to the last, there isn’t a single scene where we didn’t love her or loved her look. Her boho-ethnic wear looks inspired a lot of designers & woman to re- arrange their wardrobe, from the astounding lehengas to the pairing to traditional jackets with kurtas as tops. This movie still stands to be one of her best performances & most amazing appearances of all times. Somewhere, our hearts are still hooked on this movie!

This 2018 release Raazi is without a doubt one of the best movies of Bollywood & one of the best performances of Alia Bhatt till date. Alia raised levels higher with playing this real life character of Sehmat Khan. Once again, she rocked the North Indian look effortlessly, this look suited her so well that it felt like she was made do play this role. She was seen in ethnic wear throughout the movie & we loved her in all her looks from subtle kurtis to her wedding look but this saree look is our favourite. With her long, curly, naturally flowing hair do & subtle makeup, we have never seen Alia look this sensual in a saree before. Every girl wants to look this gorgeous in such a simple saree look like Alia does here.

7. KALANK, 2019

This 2019 release Kalank gave us another of Alia’s major ethnic wear looks & matured performances. We couldn’t help but admire Alia for everything she does, can we? This is another of Alia’s movies where we were so very confused while choosing just one look, as she looked stunning in all her ethnic wear looks from starting ‘raajvardi oodni’ song to her after marriage ethnic wear looks to very end of the movie. Yes it was difficult but we think she looked best in this white lehenga featured in the song ‘ghar more pardesiya’. No jewellery, no over the top makeup, subtle white lehenga & here she is looking like a goddess & making us awestruck!
